Joseph N. Brazgel, Jr., age 80 of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at his home. He was born on June 18, 1934 to the late Joseph N. and Phyllis (Hapak) Brazgel, Sr. Joseph served his country by enlisting in the Air Force. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Joseph also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all Joe loved spending time with his family. Joseph is survived by: his daughter, Jill (Thaddeous Fernandez) Martin of Bowler; one granddaughter, Lavender Martin; step-children, Michael (Bobbi Hacker) Rogers of Shawano and Catherine Wargo of Minneapolis; his siblings, Donald (Phyllis) Brazgel, Rosemary (Fred) Dill, and Delores (Dennis) Hinchey. He is further survived by his special nephew, Jerry (Lavern) Brazgel, his good friend, Carl Tischauser and numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph is preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph and Phyllis; his siblings, Chester Brazgel, Paul Brazgel, Charlotte Norenberg, Evelyn Brinkman and Patricia Piatrowski; and his former wife, Shirley Rogers. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Am Vets Post #10.
