Joseph J. "Joe John" Martin, age 64 of Keshena, passed away Thursday, February 06, 2014 at his home. Born on June 23, 1949 in Keshena, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Reiter) Martin. After graduating from high school, Joe John enlisted with the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Joe John worked as a welder with the military and as a patrolman with the Menominee Tribal Police. When not at work, he enjoyed bear hunting and fishing. Joe John is survived by: 2 sons, Joseph Martin Jr., and Christopher Martin both of CA; several grandchildren; 5 step children, Rose Ann Otradovec, Lynette Upchurch, Reno Edgeton, Lorna (Harold) Odeen, Dorothy Irene Edgeton; and 8 siblings, Susan Martin of Shawano, Larry (Karen) Martin, Jr. of Keshena, Bill Martin of Keshena, Rose (LeRoy) Long of Keshena, Helene (Joseph) Caldwell of Keshena, Cindy (Edward) Boivin of Keshena, Gloria (Randy) Klein of Keshena and Jane (fiancé, Ron Otradovic) Martin of Keshena. Joe John was preceded in death by: a brother, George A. Martin; his parents; and his former wife, Dorothy Martin. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Father Dave Barrett Center at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena. A Prayer Service will be held at the center on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. David McElroy O Praem officiating. Inurnment will be held in the spring at the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Menominee American Legion Post #497 and the Veterans of the Menominee Nation.
