Joseph Stephen Quinn, age 73, of Shawano, passed away on January 27, 2019 in Appleton. Born in Massachusetts on January 31, 1945, he is the son of the late Joseph P. and Jane (Barton) Quinn.  After high school, Joe enlisted in the United States Navy.  He was very Patriotic and serving in the Navy allowed him to see the world as a "tin can sailor" as he would say.  He served for two years on the destroyer, U.S.S Joseph P. Kennedy. Joe was united in marriage to Jennifer Moede on September 8, 2001 at St. John's Lutheran Church-Hermansfort.  Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a Grand Knight.  He was also very proud of his nearly 40 years of sobriety.  Joe's passion was for the game of football and he knew everything about the sport.  He was an avid fan of the Patriots and enjoyed his time coaching youth football in Boston.  He also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox as well as other Boston based sports.

Joseph is survived by: his loving wife, Jennifer; two sons, Joseph and Michael; his daughter, Amy Quinn of Shawano; mother-in-law, Mary Marquardt of Clintonville; father-in-law, John (Theresa) Moede of Shawano; his sister, Marilyn "Mal" Walsh of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Carmen (William) Kramer of Shawano and Lori Weitz of Appleton; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends…and of course his "furry girls", dog Shasta and cat Deedee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Joe will be held at noon on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
