Joseph A. Warrington, age 79 of Keshena, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at a local nursing home. Born on August 23, 1934 in Keshena, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Boivin) Warrington, Sr. After graduating from high school, Joseph enlisted with the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on March 19, 1962 after more than nine years of service. On November 22, 1969 he was united in marriage to Loretta Mae Davis in Gresham. She preceded him in death on May 10, 1984. Joseph worked at various places throughout his life including for the Menominee County Sheriff's Department, logging for Gordon Dickie, Sr., for the Menominee County Highway Department, at the Boivin's Store, at Menominee Tribal Enterprise and at the Menominee Casino and Bingo Hall. Joseph later married Janet Heath whom also precedes him in death. Joseph was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena as well as the Veterans of the Menominee Nation, the Menominee American Legion Post #497 and the VFW. Joseph is survived by: 4 daughters, Melinda (Wayne Kohel) Davis, Delores "Bozo" (Millie Murphy) Warrington, Regina Warrington and Renita Wilber all of Keshena; a son, Lawrence "Larry" (Wendy) Warrington of Keshena; stepsons, Scott Penass, Jeff and Leon Heath; 17 grandchildren, Teanna, Dean, Darus, Caprice, Jase, Katie Jo, Brandon, Kyra, Tony, Desirae, Dana, Matt, Rickie, Sylvia, Jayden, Delilah, Kaiden; a brother, Benjamin "Ben" (Betty) Warrington of Keshena; a sister, Marcia Hause of Flat Rock, MI; and numerous other relatives and friends. Joseph was preceded in death by: his first wife and love of his life, Loretta "Mae" Warrington; his second wife, Janet "Ann" Warrington; his father, Benjamin Warrington, Sr.; and his mother, Mary and stepfather, Jesse Brooks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. David McElroy O Praem officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation at the church following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Renita Wilber residence located at W1861 Broken Bow Road, Keshena from 4:00pm on Thursday until the procession leaves for the church on Saturday.
