Joyce E. "Yellow Violet" "Wolfie" Bailey Tourtillott Joyce Bailey Tourtillott, age 83 of Bowler, passed away Sunday March 4, 2012 at the Shawano Medical Center. Born March 5, 1928 in Duluth, MN, she was the daughter of the late Jean and Evelyn (Anuson) Walter. After graduating from high school, Joyce furthered her education by obtaining the equivalent of a Master's Degree in Psychiatry and worked as a therapist and counselor in Arkansas for many years. Since the 1960's, Joyce had spent her summers in the Stockbridge-Munsee area and had even lived for a while with Cille Miller. She also lived in Hawaii, California, Arkansas and Texas before returning to her roots here. Joyce was well known for her skills in silver jewelry. Today she still has jewelry at Dick & Pat's General Store. Joyce was most proud of her 54 years of sobriety. She was an active online member of AA and a founding member of AA in Hawaii. Joyce is survived by: her husband through a native ceremony, Tommy Tourtillott, Sr. of Keshena; her daughter, Christine Seubert of Muldoon, TX; 2 sons, Charlie Olson of San Diego, CA, Josh Bailey of Paducah, KY; and 2 sisters, Joan Poirier of Birnamwood and Shirley Steinhagen of Duluth, MN. Private family services were held. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano assisted with the arrangements.
