Joyce Carol Pingel, age 93 of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in Shawano. Born on June 5, 1925 in Gresham, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Susan (Baer) Page.  She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham on June 21, 1925.  Joyce was confirmed on June 5, 1938 at Mohican Immanuel Church in Red Springs.  On September 15, 1945, Joyce was united in marriage to Willis E. Pingel at St. Paul Lutheran Church Stony Hill.  Willis preceded her in death on September 18, 2015.  Joyce worked for the Shopper's Guide for over 30 years.  She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Stony Hill where she volunteered with the Ladies Aid and often helped at the thrift store.  Joyce enjoyed gardening and had many beautiful flower gardens through the years.  In the fall, Joyce and Willis enjoyed working their roadside farmers market for friends and neighbors and during the Christmas season Joyce would make Christmas candy for friends and family.  She was very creative and in her free time she enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting afghans for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Above all else Joyce loved her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by: her children, Susan (George) Peterson of Schofield, Randall (Beverly) Pingel of Shawano, Steven Pingel of Shawano and Danny (Patti) Pingel of Gresham; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis; her parents and one brother, Roland Page.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Stony Hill with Rev. John C. Eyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
