Joyce Marie Reminger, age 91, of Leopolis passed away at home on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Born on February 19, 1925 in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Hartel) Schmidt, Sr. After graduating from Gresham High School, Joyce worked at Gresham State Bank until she was united in marriage to John J. Reminger in Gresham, on October 23, 1948. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm while raising six children. Joyce enjoyed tending to a big vegetable garden and many flower gardens. She also liked listening to Brewer games on the radio and watching the Packer games. The most important thing to her was always her family, and she cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leopolis where she was active in the St. Mary's CCW.

Joyce is survived by: her children, Sharon (Mike) Reinert of Tigerton, Sally (Dick) Hesse of Shawano, Sandy Nemetz of Shawano, John (Kay) Reminger, Jr. of Leopolis, Sue (Jerry) Leatherberry of Leopolis and Carol (Tim) Mehlberg of Marion; 14 grandchildren, Michelle (Nick) Kielblock, Steve Reinert, Staci (Ricky Nettles) Reinert, Laurie (Mike) Johnson, Bryan (Deja Duebler) Nemetz, Linsey (James) Mathews, Angie (Brett) Nelson, Brad Leatherberry, Kelly Leatherberry, Bethany Grunewald, Kristin Mehlberg, Jason Reminger, Justin Reminger, and Jessica Reminger; nine great grandchildren, Hartley, Emilee, Erik, Maddux, Bryson, Bentley, Brevyn, Zoey, and Noah. She is further survived by a brother, Louis (Jackie) Schmidt of Gresham, a sister, Ruth Hoffman of Gresham, a brother-in-law, Joseph Reminger, three sisters-in-law, Della Borre, Judy (Ron) Kazda, and Marge Zillmer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Reminger, Sr., her parents, a son-in-law, Gary Nemetz, a great granddaughter, Harper Marie Nettles, a brother, Clyde, and a sister Maxine.

A funeral service for Joyce will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leopolis with Fr. Jose Castenada officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the procession leaves for the church. A parish wake service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 pm with Deacon Bricco officiating.

Joyce's family wishes to thank ThedaCare at home hospice, especially Kristy, Marilyn, and Jolene for their great care. Also a special thank you to volunteer, Mary Martin for her visits which Mom enjoyed.
