Judy (Saekapān) Hawpetoss, "Koh-Koh", age 60, of Keshena, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Judy was born in Milwaukee on August 19, 1961, daughter of the late Samuel and Frances (Matchopatow) Hawpetoss, Sr. Judy worked as a CNA before earning her Culinary Arts Degree in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked as a chef and enjoyed cooking; her fry bread will be missed by all. She was a member of the Big Drum and a dancer at various pow-wows where she was a contest winner. Judy also enjoyed beading and sewing and most of all loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by; her partner of many years, Peter Shawanokasic; her children, Alex, Sheena, Victoria, and Shawnelee; her grandchildren, Demetrius, McKenzie, Julius, Tyrese, Arrelio Jr., Shawn, Rhama, Leroy, Jadacy, Jaslene, Jovayah, and Jolaya; She is further survived by her sister, Rebecca "Becky" Hawpetoss.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Samuel and Frances (Matchopatow) Hawpetoss, Sr.; and her sister and brothers; Nina, Jerry, John, Glenn, Dale, and Sam Jr.
A traditional funeral service for Judy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Michael's Parish. Friends may call at the Father David Barrett Hall at St. Michael's from 2:00 p.m. on Thursday until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will be at Our Lady of the Woods Cemetery, West Branch.
