Karen Ann Schwitzer, age 78 of Shawano, went to meet her Lord, on Friday, April 2, 2021. Karen was born on August 5, 1942 in Shawano, daughter of the late Joseph and Irma (Bratz) Bohr. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1960 and Accredited Beauty School in Green Bay, June of 1961. Karen was a beautician for 48 years, initially working for Judy Hull, followed by Island Tropics Hair Design & Spa.  During that time, she was also the hairstylist for Born and Swedberg Funeral Home. On August 22, 1964, Karen was united in marriage to Thomas Schwitzer at Sacred Heart Catholic in Shawano.  Tom preceded Karen in death on August 23, 2011.

Karen is survived by her two sons, Michael of Waukesha, and Mark (Amy) of Shawano; two grandsons, Ethan Thomas, and Ryan James; and one sister, Kathleen (Mel) Froemming. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom, her parents, and a baby sister.

Karen will be dearly missed by all her friends and family.

A memorial service will be held for Karen at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Valentyn officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service.
