Kate Page, age 40, of Hatley, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Kate was born in Shawano on June 3, 1976 to Charles and Marti Matyska. After graduating from high school Kate earned a bachelor's degree, from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, in Urban Forestry. She worked for a short time in the Czech Republic before returning to Wisconsin and settling in the Wausau area. On September 5, 2004 she was united in marriage to Lee Page at the top of Rib Mountain. Kate loved nature and animals and had a passion for animal rights. She was also very artistic and enjoyed gardening and photography. Kate was a wonderful woman with a big heart always thinking of others and putting the needs of others before her own. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kate is survived by: her husband, Lee; her parents, Chuck and Marti Matyska of Cecil; her sister Mary (James) Wood of Homer Glen, IL; her mother-in-law, Michelle Pagryzinski of Hatley; a sister-in-law Kelly (Jonas) Pelot of Wausau; five nephews, Scott (Helen) Wood, Ethan Wood, Austin Pelot, Devin Pelot, and Haden Pelot; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.
A time of sharing will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00pm. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 11:00am.
