Kathleen-Jo Hanke, age 59, of the Town of Wescott, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the born on August 14, 1957, in Milwaukee. She is the daughter of the late William and Joyce (Breckenridge) Nauertz. She graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1975. Kathy Jo was united in marriage on June 9, 1984 to Eugene Hanke at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She worked as an assistant administrator at Morning Glory for several years and Wolf River High School. She was a past Cub Scout leader, had a passion for horses as well as sharing her knowledge of horses to children, attending Lifest in Oshkosh every year and also bird watching. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
Kathy Jo is survived by her husband Eugene; children, Emily Jo Hanke, of Shawano and William Hanke, of Appleton; one granddaughter, Faith; sisters, Jeanette Beavers of Aurora CO, Mary Kedzie of Madison and Ruth-Ellen (Kathy-Ann) Kunde-Nauertz of Milwaukee.
Kathy Jo was preceded in death by her parents, son James and sister Arlene Bollhagen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from noon until the time of the service.
