Kathleen E. "Kathy" Van Price, age 71, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in Shawano. Kathy was born on November 17, 1951, to the late Aldon and Evelyn (Gartman) Mielke in Merrill, Wisconsin. On March 26, 1975, she was united in marriage to James Van Price in Antigo. Kathy was a talented cook and baker making a mouthwatering chicken noodle soup and an exceptional schaum torte. She wasn't afraid of a hard day's work and would occasionally join her husband, James, at one of his siding jobs where she would operate the brake. She loved her gardens and thoroughly enjoyed the occasional ice-cold beer. Kathy loved her family with all her heart and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 48 years, James; children, Shay (Bryan) Prince and Sarah (Walter) Skalitzky; stepsons, Jim Van Price, Cory (Loretta) Van Price and Travis (Tamra) Van Price; grandchildren, Shanda, Emily, Matthew, Tyler, Hays Sr., Tucker, Ryan, Luke, Ashley, Ashley, Zach and Hunter; great-grandchildren, Nia, Layla, Charlie, Hays Jr. and Tesla; and siblings, Arleen Kersten and Ardon (Becky) Mielke. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Desire; siblings, Jack Mielke and Arthur Mielke; and her parents, Aldon and Evelyn.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
