Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Waupekenay, age 53, of Neopit, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020. She was born on October 31, 1966 to the late Kenneth Weso and Lois Cleveland. Kathleen graduated from Menominee High School and later was united in marriage to Steve Waupekenay, on July 5, 1995 in Keshena.  She loved going to the casino, listening to Bob Marley, the Packers, and most of all her grandchildren and family.

Kathy is survived by: her husband Steve; her children, Danielle (Sanome) Rockman, Kameron Rockman, and Destiny (Richard) Rockman; 18 grandchildren as well as special grandchild Jermaine Rockman; her siblings, Angeline Pamanet, Brenda Cleveland, Maria (Roderick) Connahvichnah, Patricia (John) Cleveland, and Kendal (Amber) Cleveland; half-brother Kenneth (Mary Sue) Weso Jr.; half-sister Melanie (Bryce) Weso. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother Harold Cleveland; her half-brother Kenneth Thunder; and her special friends Tammy Kinney and Joan Wayka.

Funeral services for Kathleen will be held at 10 am, on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit, with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. Visitation will be held at Angeline Pamanet's residence located at W2809 Chief Little Wave, Keshena (School View) at 2pm on Sunday until the time of procession to the church on Tuesday. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
