Kathryn L. Teetzen, age 81, of Shawano passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Kathryn was born on October 7, 1938, in Shawano, to the late Phillip and Erna (Franz) Blonde.
On August 18, 1962, Kathryn was united in marriage to Marlyn Teetzen at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stony Hill. Their marriage was blessed with three children, a daughter, Terri of Arizona, and two sons, Timothy and Thomas both of Shawano. Kathryn raised their children in a loving home until they ventured out into the world on their own.
Kathryn had been employed by the Shawano School District for more than 20 years, working in food service, until she had retired. She is a member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church where she was a charter member of the Altar Guild. Kathryn enjoyed basket weaving and especially enjoyed the classes she participated with while in Florida and New Hampshire. She was also a charter member of The Wolf River Basket Guild. Basket weaving was a conduit to meeting new people and making many new friends.
Kathryn is survived by: her husband, Marlyn; her daughter, Terri; her sons, Timothy and Thomas; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl Nelson, Alfred (Shirley) Teetzen of Shawano, Merle Teetzen of Plymouth, MN, Ruth Korth of Stevens Point, Carol Teetzen of Wauwatosa, and Shirley Teetzen of West Bend. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her siblings, Shirley (Cecil) Redwine, Beverley (Frank) Miller, Mildred Nelson, and Merlyn "Butch" (Gloria) Blonde; her foster parents, Fred and Elsie Waelchli; foster sisters, Arlene (Lloyd) Salzman and Helen (Vilas) Krause; foster brother, Clarence (Dorothy) Waelchli; and brother-in-law, Irving "Irv" Korth, Willis Teetzen and Curtis Teetzen.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at St. Jakobi Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Travis Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the St. Jakobi Building Fund.
