Kearson Gay Boivin, age 52, of Milwaukee, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her home. Born on February 7, 1964 in Illinois, she is the daughter of Loren E. Small and the late Dolores Dixon. Kearson spent most of her life in Keshena, except the last 4 years she resided in Milwaukee. While in Keshena, she was the fire warden for more than 20 years. On June 4, 2005, she was united in marriage to Steve Boivin at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. Her love of art included doing crafts. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and enjoyed going to the casino to play bingo, but more than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Kearson is survived by: her husband, Steve; her children, Carra (Renee) Butler, Casity McIntyre and Fontane (Tomika) Tolar; Sopoma Forrest, whom she raised; three step-children, Steffany (Paul) Boivin, Steve Boivin, Jr. and Joseph Boivin; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; her father, Loren (Luella) Small, Sr.; her siblings, Karen Oelke, Sharon (John) Simak, Kathy Small, Debbie Small, Mary Small, Elizabeth (George) Walters, Keona (John) Lewis, Marcene Barnes and Maggie (Kevin) Schlichting.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Small; her mother, Dolores Small-Yaiser; and her siblings, Russell Small, Jocylyn Williams, Betty Ann Dixon and Gail Peters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Neopit Community Center on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 2:00 pm until the time of the service.
