Obituary

Keith E. Rudesill, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1934, in Milwaukee, to Imelda and Thomas Rudesill. He attended school in Red Springs first grade through second, then attended Gresham School from third to fifth grade. He went on to attend Neillsville Indian school from sixth grade to eight grade and returned to Gresham School to continue schooling through 12th grade. He however left halfway through the year to join the United States Navy. From 1952 to 1953 he served in the Great Lakes Installation. Keith then went to Long Beach California Pacific Reserve Fleet and was stationed at the USS Agerholm from 1953 to 1955. He served another 6 months at the USS Summit. Keith was a member of the Honored Mohican Veteran and Color Guard, where he represented the group on many occasions, including Pow Wows and school assemblies.

After his time in the service, he resided in Milwaukee and worked at Harnischfeger until 1972. He moved to Bonduel, WI and worked at Fort Howard in Green Bay until his retirement in 1996. While living in Bonduel he had a hobby farm for his children, Scott, Jody, Michelle, and Brad. They raised pigs, chickens and rabbits for the County Fair. They also had a large garden and pickle patch. He was proud to be a boy scout Leader and coached the 4H softball team and took his kids fishing and hunting often.

Keith was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He made many home improvements and worked on many older model vehicles. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. He also enjoyed doing woodworking projects with his grandchildren. This included making birdhouses, furniture and many other things.

In 2005, he returned to Gresham, to spend more time with his brothers. Some of his favorite things to do in retirement, before he became ill, was taking long drives with his best friend and co-conspirator the late Robert Miller.

Left to honor his memory are: his children, Scott (Sue) Rudesill, Jody Harr, Michelle Curtin and Brad Rudesill; his grandchildren, Danielle (Brian) Brzoskowski, Jacob (Vivian) Rudesill, Jesse (Racine) Richter, Jeremy (Christin) Harr, Courtney Curtin, Hayley (Josh) Curtin, and Dalyn (Mikayla) Rudesill; his great-grandchildren, Henry, Patrick, Morgan, Gracie, Baylee, and Carson; his sister-in-law Sue Summers.
