Kenneth E.
Boettcher, Sr.
February 21, 1928 – November 2, 2020
Kenneth E. Boettcher, Sr., age 92 of Shawano, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Shawano Health Services. Kenneth was born to the late Orin and Ethel Boettcher on February 21, 1928 in West Bend.
Kenneth attended Golden Oak School in Barton. He worked for West Bend Transit and Burkhardt Electric before owning and operating Ken's Appliance. Kenneth later moved to Cecil where he owned the Elbow Room tavern. After selling the tavern he moved to Summit Lake opening a supper club called "High Point". He returned to Cecil years later. Kenneth drove truck for J.P. Mach Company out of Plover. On September 9, 1991, he was united in marriage to Nancy (Reiland-Crass). Kenneth later went to work for Roger Knueppel Farm. He loved working with the animals and the Knueppel family. He ended his working years with the Village of Cecil, retiring in 2007.
Kenneth was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in the Town of Washington. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking in his shop, and having a beer with his friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Nancy; sons, Douglas (Cheryl) of Berlin, Kenneth, Jr. (Susan) of Campbellsport, Keith (Penny) of Campbellsport, Bruce (Tracy) of Kewaskum and Rick; his daughter, Michele (Troy) Sherman of Cecil; stepchildren, Linda (Michael) Fechter of Florida, Cynthia (Dan) Kopydlewski of Lily, and Jacob (Kathy) Reiland of Lomira; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; his sister, Janice (Eugene) Herriges of West Bend; brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Nancie Crass of West Bend and John and Ruth Abel of Eagle River. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wives, Joyce and Wilma (Billie); and brothers-in-law, Marlin Erdman and Ronald Hackbarth.
A funeral service for Kenneth will be held at noon on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Swedberg-Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil with Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Funeral Home from 9:00 am until the time of service.
