Kenneth Raymond "Ken" Strauss, age 80, passed away in his home on Tuesday November 7, 2023. Ken was born on August 10, 1943, in Shawano to the late Alfred and Lucille (Sweitzer) Strauss. He was a lifelong citizen of Shawano and worked primarily for local companies throughout his career. Ken worked for FWD, Webers, Heritage Hardwoods, Hotz Manufacturing and Bonduel Sand and Gravel. He also did over the road trucking for a couple years where he got to see some great places. Ken enjoyed driving short trips to the north woods and seeing where the road would take him. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting and spending time with his sons.

Ken is survived by his sons, James (Kelly) Strauss, Sr. and Tony (Beth) Strauss; grandchildren, Amanda (Rick Lewis) Strauss of Shawano and James (Lindsey Kutchnriter) Strauss, Jr. of Weyauwega; step-granddaughter Emily of Green Bay; great-grandchildren, Aisha, Conner and Ethen of Shawano, Lucy Bristol, Wesley and Kinley of Weyauwega; daughter-in-law, Carmen Strauss of Shawano; sisters, Carol Laffin and Barb Hurley both of Shawano; sister-in-law, Janalee Strauss of New London; nieces, Renee Ehlke of New London and Jenny (Chris) Brickham of Hortonville; and nephews Dave Hurley, Jr. of Bristle, Illinois, Tony (Katie) Hurley of Manhattan, Illinois and Jason Laffin of Shawano.

Ken is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Strauss; brother, Alfred Strauss, Jr.; parents, Alfred and Lucille; niece, Julie Laffin; and brothers-in-law, Denise Laffin and Dave Hurley, Sr.

A funeral service for Ken will be held at noon on Monday November 13, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with Pastor Scott Ludford officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held at the Lake Drive Cemetery in Shawano following the services.
