Kenneth E. Rosenow, age 82 of Shawano, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2014. Ken was born on January 28, 1932 in Belle Plaine to the late Edwin J & Margaret (Wing) Rosenow. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1950 and was proud to be a member of the school's championship track relay team. On June 2, 1956, Ken was united in marriage to Marcalene Ewald at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marion. Ken was the treasurer for the Town of Belle Plaine for 50 years, a Pioneer Hi-Bred seed sales rep for 30 years, a past president and board member of Shawano County DHIA for 20 years and a former member of the Shawano Jaycee's. He was a dairy and grain farmer in the Town of Belle Plaine and hosted Wisconsin Farm Progress Days in 1989. Ken also hosted the Shawano County Holstein "Twilight" Assoc. and received the Century Farm Award in 1993. He was a member of the Shawano County Agricultural Society and supporter of 4-H small & large animal auction. He enjoyed polka music, hunting and going "up north" to the cottage. He loved sports and was a follower and supporter of Leopolis baseball. He enjoyed all sports especially high school basketball and loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events. He has attended the state high school basketball tournament from 1949-2014 and was Shawano Athletic Booster Club Fan of the Year. Ken was a former Belle Plaine fireman and on the water fighting team for many years. Ken was a faithful member of the Zion Lutheran Church and served as usher and played dartball on the church team. Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Marcalene Rosenow, his daughter, Kay (John Stueck) Kristof, his son Kraig (Stephanie) Rosenow and his grandchildren Kasey and Kendra Kristof. He is further survived by his sister, Isla Zingler and his sister-in-law, Sharon Roeder and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Margaret, his sister Mavis Riesenberg, his father and mother-in-law, Harry and Louine Ewald and his brothers-in-law, Earl Riesenberg, Leland Zinger and Francis Roeder. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 9:30a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
