Obituary

Kenneth Roy Zuleger, age 80 of Bonduel, went home to his eternal rest on Friday, December 18, 2020 after a battle of cirrhosis of the liver. Ken was born on February 4, 1940, in Outagamie County, to the late Carl and June (Wanie) Zuleger. He attended Frazer Corner School and graduated from Pulaski High School.

Ken worked as a farm hand for farmers in the area before graduation and became very good friends with them. After graduation he worked for Karcz Motors of Pulaski, purchasing a nice new convertible which he was very proud of. He went on to work for Miller Electric and Pabst Brewery. In 1961 he married Jackie Heck and their marriage was blessed with three children. In 1975, Ken became manager of the Bonduel Legion Arcade and Bowling Alley where he had tended bar for many years. In 1991, he married Maureen (Mitzi) Huntington at Friedens Lutheran Church of Bonduel. In 1992, Ken and Mitzi purchased the bowling alley which became Zugies Bar and Bowl. In 2000, Ken was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. The bowling alley was sold in 2002 and Ken received the blessing of a new heart at UW Hospital in Madison. In 2007, Ken battled cryptococcus meningitis for two months and again returned to good health with the Lord's help. Ken went on to transfer cars for Van den Brook Ford and then Witt Ford. Ken was a dedicated fireman for years. He drove school bus for 20 years enjoying his students both on the bus and in the bowling alley. Ken adored his children, grandchildren, great grandchild Ava, his stepchildren, step grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attended as many of their activities as he could. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, building bird houses, watching Bronco games, having morning coffee with his special buddies at the Hungry Bear, and going for trips with Mitzi and their friends. Ken was a very loving and kind person always willing to share a good conversation with anyone who would listen. It always took longer to shop for the groceries than it took to cook the meal.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Mitzi; a son, Kurt (Tami) Zuleger of Bonduel; a daughter, Karla (Kevin) Westgor of Pulaski; stepsons, Mark (Mary) Huntington of Appleton, Paul (Sherry) Huntington of Bonduel, and Jeff (Susie) Huntington of Shawano; grandchildren, Stephan White, Brianna (Kyle) Lentz, Graciali Zuleger, and Brock Westgor; step grandchildren, Zach Kroenke, Nathan Huntington, Brice (Jaime) Huntington, Breanne (Jeff Van de Bogart) Huntington, Justin (Kelsi) Huntington, Brooke Huntington, Bronson (Dartania Heinz) Huntington, Brynn (Dustin) Tomas, Grace Huntington, Ava Huntington, and Max Huntington; great-granddaughter, Ava Lentz; step great-grandchildren, Payton, Carter, and Sawyer Huntington, Brystol Van de Bogart, Judson Van de Bogart, and Emma Huntington; two brothers, Delbert (Joann Zellner) Zuleger and Dennis (Lisa Huch) Zuleger; and two sisters, Audrey Schommer and Connie (Phil) Fleigle. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kari; step daughter, Kim; his parents; mother and father-in-law, Alex and Loretta Stern; brother-in-law, Dave Schommer; sister-in-law, Beverly Zuleger; a niece, Peggy Bartel; and great nephews, Jeremy and Aaron Zuleger.
