Obituary

Lalita "Lolly" Waukau, age 69, of Middle Village, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at her home. Lolly was born on July 22, 1950, in Keshena, to the late William and Gertrude (Kohel) Waukau.

Lolly loved the Green Bay Packers, Classic Country, a good garage sale, and long rides in the woods.  Lolly liked to tell it like it is. She was always kind and compassionate to those in need, never letting anyone she knew be cold, hungry or homeless if she could help it. She had an open door policy with her family no matter where she lived, whatever the need was, sharing what she had.

Lolly will be sadly missed by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters. She would ask you to keep your grieving short. "Not to cry for me too long," but rather celebrate her life and the love she gave.

Lolly is survived by: her 3 daughters, Angela Marie Waukau LaRoque (Ross LaRoque) of Clintonville, Brenda K. Cookson Schulte of Wichita K.S., and Holly R. Cookson of Arlington V.A.; her 10 grandchildren, Benjamin Paul Greenwood, Erika Lynn Maulson (Michael Mathis, Sr.), Amanda Rae Hendricks (Josh Hendricks), Malysa Kay Greenwood, Daniel Joseph Greenwood, Nathan Aaron Houghtelling, Zachary Robert Schulte, Morgan Marie Barber, Marissa Meagan Barber, and Isabelle Eriel Ann Whited; 7 great-grandchildren, Aurora Lynn Maulson, Neveah Marie Mathis, Autumn Waverly Hendricks, Athena Mae Mathis, Michael Douglas Mathis, Jr., Sedona Mae Schulte, and Kara Michelle Barber; her siblings, Bobby Waukau, Larry Waukau, Daryl Waukau, Kathryn Waukau Camacho, Denise Waukau, Leon Waukau and Jacquelyn Waukau Johnson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Gertrude; her siblings, Rosella Waukau Ninham, William Waukau, and Charles Kohel; and her grandchildren, Joshua Aaron Maulson, Elijah and Brandon Schulte, and Jedidiah and Josiah Waukau Brussow, and ex-husband Robert L. Cookson
