Larry Charles Lohrentz, age 72, of Pella, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in Shawano. Larry was born in Milwaukee on August 3, 1943, the son of the late Walter and Evelyn (Hoppe) Lohrentz, Sr. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Larry lived most of his life in the Pella area, and worked as a carpenter for Howard Immel, Boldt Company, and Miron Construction, retiring 10 years ago. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Caroline American Legion Post #456 and the Carpenter's Union. He loved time spent with his family and friends, playing cards and fishing. Larry is survived by: his five children, Robert Lohrentz, Dixie (Michael) Hall, Todd Lohrentz, Rodney (Kelly) Lohrentz and Dana (Eric) Walton; 11 grandchildren and his great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat (Elmer) Zimmerman and Betty Heling; and one brother, Dale (Jean) Lohrentz; he is further survived by his former wife Darlene. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Walter, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Charles Heling. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella with Rev. Tim Lofgren officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Caroline American Legion. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
