Laura M. Maskewit, age 79, of Keshena, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, in Shawano. Born on December 20, 1938, in Keshena, Laura was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Mary (Beauprey) Maskewit. Laura grew up in Keshena, then moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked in manufacturing for several years before returning to Keshena where she has lived and worked for the past 40 years. Laura enjoyed doing arts and crafts and was extremely talented with beadwork and cross-stitch. She also made countless blankets for family and friends over the years. In her free time she enjoyed attending pow-wows and riding in the woods. Laura's family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Laura is survived by: her significant other of nearly 40 years, Wendell "Windy" Corn, Sr., of Keshena; her children, Lisa (Willie Garza) Annamitta of Green Bay, Richard (Fay) Annamitta of Keshena, Lori Annamitta of Clintonville, Brenda Annamitta of Chicago, Diane (Larry) Skinkis of Green Bay, and Tracey (J-Mo Shawano) Maskewit of Keshena; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Carl "Chummy" (Jan) Maskewit of Keshena; sisters, Elizabeth Gonzales of Sturgeon Bay, Delores Edgerton of Shawano, and Kathleen Sammons of Indiana; she is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by: two sons, Rolland and Stewart; her parents; and siblings, Mitchell "Chappy" Maskewit, Donald "Buddy" Maskewit, and Dorothy Martin.
Funeral services for Laura will be held at Carl and Jan Maskewit's residence, N276 Max Martin Rd. Keshena at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Visitation will be held at the Carl and Jan Maskewit residence beginning at 4:00pm on Tuesday, January 16th until the time of the service on Thursday.
