Laurel Anne Marquardt, age 64, of New Franken, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday July 24, 2024, at her home. Laurel was born on March 10, 1960, in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Richard and Lois (Biendarra) Marquardt. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1978 and graduated from University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 1982 receiving her accounting degree. Laurel received her CPA license, and moved to Houston, Texas, working as an accountant before returning to the Green Bay and Appleton area, where she worked at Valley Bank and M.I. for many years. She became Human Resource Director at Insurance Services Inc. in Appleton, before eventually being employed at Pfefferle for 16 years, ultimately as director of operation, and receiving the team player award in 2023.

Laurel is survived by the love of her life for the past 25 years, Leland "Lee" Granius; brothers, Scott (Sylvia) Marquardt and Douglas (Linda Larson) Marquardt; niece, Andrea; uncle, Ken (Lu) Biendarra; aunt, Charlene (Mike) Petersen; and uncle-in-law, John Van Beek. She is further survived by Lee's family, sister, Sandy (Dave) Barta; brother, Jerry (Jean) Granius; and nieces, Stacie, Janel, Lisa, Sheri and Tracy.

A funeral service for Laurel will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday July 31, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Don Landwehr officiating. Entombment will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday at Nicolet Memorial Park in Green Bay. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday July 30, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and then again on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
