LaVerna Krause Barrick, age 88, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Shawano. Born on October 7, 1929 in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Jewel and Myrtle (Raasch) Raddant.  LaVerna graduated from Shawano High School and attended St. Mary's School in Green Bay for nursing.  On October 3, 1953 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Krause at St. John's Lutheran Church in Leopolis.  Robert preceded her in death on August 11, 1986.  On December 2, 2000, LaVerna married Donald L. Barrick in Chandler, AZ.  He preceded her in death on April 5, 2017.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Zachow, where she was part of the Ladies Aide and LWML.  LaVerna was also an Auxilary member of International Gideons, past president of Shawano Camp, State Widow Coordinator and the past chairmen of Shawano Christian Womens.

LaVerna is survived by: her children, Kathy (Warren) Behnke and their children, Aaron (Alison) Behnke, Paul (Nicole) Behnke and Alissa (Aaron) Brandt; Robert (Doreen) Krause and their children, Robert Krause, Ryan Krause and Joey (Jenna) Krause; and Tom (Laurie) Krause and their children, Dustin (Megan) Krause, Nick (Fiancée, Megan) Krause and Logan Krause; her step-children, Gregory (Llynore) Barrick and Karla (Ron) Izzett; great-grandchildren Ava, Abby, Ethan, James, David, Selah, Jackson, Gabi, Maklynn and Karsyn; four step-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; her siblings, Carol (Ike) Hoffman; JoAnn (Gene) Wood, Bernette (Wally) Schultz, Janalee (Terry) Brooks, Jewel (Sharon) Raddant and Larry (Retta) Raddant; and special friend, Myrtle Gayhart, who adopted LaVerna as "Ma".

She was preceded in death by: her 1st husband, Robert Krause; her 2nd husband, Donald Barrick; her parents; three brothers, Reggie, Vernon and Leland and one sister, Darlene.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Zachow with Rev. Richard Buhrke officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
