Obituary

On January 27, 2025, at the age of 99, the Lord called LaVerna L. Lamb to her heavenly home where she was reunited with her husband, Jim and son, David.

LaVerna was born on December 26, 1925, to the late Adolph and Lena (Deering) Marohl, in the Town of Washington, Cecil. She graduated from Shawano High School. On July 15, 1949, she married S. James Lamb at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake, beginning a beautiful journey of love and family. LaVerna returned to Illinois where Jim was from and where she took a job working for the Civil Service.

Later LaVerna and Jim returned to Pulcifer, Wisconsin where she spent most of her life and raised her beautiful and loving children Rita and son, David. She worked at Pulcifer Mechanics in Gillett for many years.

She was a devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Pulcifer and Faith United Church of Gillett, LaVerna found joy in volunteering at the thrift store in Shawano alongside her church friends.

She had a knack for sewing, often mending and repairing her family's clothes with love. Her green thumb brought beauty to her garden and her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals. Family was the center of the world, and she expressed her love through the food she prepared- pancakes, canned peaches, chocolate cake, pies, tortes and hearty soups. No one ever left her home hungry and she made sure to send food home with every visitor.

LaVerna also found happiness in life's simple pleasures, like fishing off the dock at the cottage on Shawano Lake. Those quiet moments by the water brought her peace and joy, creating cherished memories for her family to treasure forever.

LaVerna was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Lena Marohl; her beloved husband, S. James Lamb; her son, David J. Lamb; and her siblings, Adeline Jackman, Mildred Donald, Victor Marohl, Leonard Marohl and Leo Marohl.

She is survived her children and son-in-law, Rita and Ronald Kuhn of Green Bay, and daughter-in-law, Sandra Lamb of Lena. She was a cherished grandmother to, Jessie (Mike) Kaczmarek, Andrew Lamb of Oconto Falls, Carrie Lamb of De Pere, Greg Kuhn of Green Bay and Jeff (Katie) Kuhn of Milwaukee. Her great-grandchildren, David Kaczmarek, Carleigh Kaczmarek, Maggie Kaczmarek, Dakota Yancy, Gracie Zingler, Huckleberry Zingler, Lennox Kuhn and Callen Kuhn, will forever carry her love in their hearts.

LaVerna's legacy is one of love, devotion and selflessness. She found joy in the little moments, always putting her family first and ensuring they were cared for and deeply loved. Her memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew her.
