LaVerna M. Wolf, age 89 of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at a local nursing home. Born on January 7, 1923 in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late Frederick C. and Olga (Marten) Rusch. On June 23, 1945 she was united in marriage to Raymond A. Wolf at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Raymond preceded her in death on April 23, 1971. LaVerna worked at the Shawano Paper Mill and at Witt's Locker. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill and was active in the Ladies Aid. In her free time she enjoyed beading and tending to her flower gardens. LaVerna is survived by: her granddaughter, Tanya (Aaron) Anker; 2 sisters, Janice (Tom) Wilkinson of Clintonville, Bernadine Teske of Clintonville; and son-in-law, Jeffrey (Linda) Engel. LaVerna was preceded in death by: her husband, Raymond; her daughter, Lynette Engel; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill in the Town of Richmond with the Rev. John C. Eyer officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday after 10am until the time of the service.
