Obituary
LaVonna Rae Rush, age 69, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at her home. LaVonna was born in Shawano on November 19, 1947 to the late Winifred "Pudge" and Dorothy (Owen) Huntington. On April 8, 1967, she was united in marriage to James Rush in Gillett. LaVonna was an avid Brewer fan and collects Brewer bobble heads. In her free time she enjoyed shopping and bowling. More than anything, LaVonna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and always enjoyed attending the family's various sporting events.
LaVonna is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Jim; their children, Tina (Scott) Martin of Green Bay, Curt (Tina) Rush of New London, Deanna (Pat) Roberts of Shawano, James Rush, Jr. of Appleton and Stephanie (Mike) Bendtschneider, Sr. of Shawano; nine grandchildren, Whitney Tucker, Braeden Rush, Kortney Roberts, Mariah Rush, Michael Bendtschneider, Jr., Payten Marohl, Caprice Rush, Ava Bendtschneider and Owen Rush; three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Wesley, Kingston and a great-granddaughter on the way. She is further survived by her sister, Bonnie Buss of Bonduel; her brother, Garry (Sheila) Huntington of Columbus, GA; one brother-in-law, Donald (Edith) Rush of Oconto; one sister-in-law, Debra Pogrant of Oconto, numerous nieces and nephews, including her godson Troy Buss; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: a grandson, Ethan; her parents, Winifred Huntington and Dorothy and Louis Stickney; one brother, Arnold Huntington; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred and Russell Rush; and two brothers-in-law, Mike Buss and Kenneth Pogrant.
Funeral services for LaVonna will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Church on the Hill with Rev. Claudia Deede officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.
LaVonna's family would like to extend special thanks to ThedaCare at Home Hospice as well as the girls at ThedaCare's outpatient I.V., including Terrie, Joy, Jana, Michele, Corine, and Claire for all they did for LaVonna.
