Obituary

Lawrence "Larry"  Wilke, age 83, of Pulaski, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024.  Larry was born in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin on July 28, 1941, son of the late James Huntington and Esther Wilke.  Following high school Larry enlisted in the United States Military, serving his country honorably for 25 years before retiring.  Larry held numerous jobs throughout his working career.  He enjoyed his time working for Green Bay Packaging for several years and most recently he loved working for the Pulaski school district as a crossing guard, known as "Mr. Larry" to all the children whom he adored.  Larry was a hardworking and generous man who enjoyed helping others.  In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, doing yard work and going to rummage and estate sales looking for things to add to his collection.  More than anything he cherished spending time with his family, his friends and his two beloved dogs, Benji and Willow.

Larry is survived by: his significant other of 17 years, Lana Sporisky; his children, Larry (Mary) Wilke, Jr., Melinda Wilke, and Dwane (Kara) Wilke; step daughter, Tracey (Mike) Wilson; Lana's children, Jody (Julie) Sporisky, Jay (Julie) Sporisky, Jeff (Cara) Sporisky, and Jason (significant other Siri) Sporisky; grandchildren, Aaron (Kimberly) Destiche, Daniel (fiancé Chelsea) Destiche, Andrew Huempfner, Ashley Maldonado, T.J. Wilson, Mitch Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Ethan Wilke, Anika Wilke, Caleb Wilke, Tyler Sporisky, Ryan Sporisky, Halea Sporisky, Tatum Sporisky, and Kiauna (Tristen) Gorges; two great grandchildren, Emma and Isaac; and siblings, James (Diana) Christensen, William Christensen, Francis Huntington, Heidi Huntington, and James Huntington.  He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Huntington and Esther (Wilke) Christensen and a brothers, Ronald (Geraldine) Wilke and Billy Huntington.

A funeral service for Larry will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel at 11:00am on Friday, August 16, 2024, with Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion following the service. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30am until the time of the service.
