Obituary

Lawrence John Kallies, age 60, of Cecil, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, in Neenah. He was born on April 13, 1961, in Shawano, to the late Maynard and Helen (Brunette) Kallies. He attended Shawano High School, graduating with the class of 1979. He was united in marriage to Ann Marie Palmer, on October 9, 2010 at St. Martin's of Tours Catholic Church, in Cecil. Lawrence worked for Schultz Brothers in Shawano and River Falls, Chaimsons, and 3-D Manufacturing. He then took a job at Shawano Paper Mill, working there for 40 years. In his youth, Lawrence won the Automotive National 4-H award. He was very involved in racing at the Shawano Speedway and a life-time member of Shawano County Agricultural Society. Aside from racing, Lawrence's hobbies included hunting, snowmobiling, and recently, he enjoyed his new UTV.  He loved time spent at his cabin in Mountain, and especially enjoyed the bears and other wildlife. Lawrence's honesty, loyalty and wonderful sense of humor were what made him such a great man. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Lawrence is survived by: his wife Ann Marie Kallies; his mother Helen Kallies; his mother-in-law Gerrianne Palmer; his brothers-in-law James (Denise) Palmer, John (Sheila) Palmer, and Gerald (Jennifer) Palmer; his sister-in-law Amy (Evan) Palmer; his nephew Brandon Palmer; his nieces Kyla and Lily Palmer; He is further survived by aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his father Maynard Kallies; his father-in-law Lyle Palmer; his brother-in-law Theodore Palmer.

A funeral service for Lawrence will be held at 11:00 am on Friday September 10, 2021, at St. Martin's of Tours Catholic Church, in Cecil, with Rev. Charles Hoffman and Deacon Todd Raether officiating. Visitation will begin on Thursday September 9, 2021, at the Swedberg Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a wake service at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 9:30 am at the church until the time of service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
