Lawrence Edgar "Larry" Leinberger, age 64, of Wittenberg and Milwaukee, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016.
Larry was born in Milwaukee on November 10, 1951, the son of Caroline (Wehausen) Leinberger and the late Lawrence Leinberger.
On August 11, 1973, Larry was united in marriage to Sylvia R. Ladd at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
The couple lived in Milwaukee for many years, where Larry worked for the city as a forestry supervisor until his retirement.
Sylvia preceded him in death on June 22, 2013.
Larry loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening in his free time.
He was a founding member of the Morris Sportsmans Club, where he was very active in club activities including carving the sign for "Morris Town Park".
Known to his friends and family as "Uncle Larry", he was an extremely talented wood worker often making guitars and flutes to give to family and friends.
Larry is survived by:
his daughter, Andrea (Saif) Jabari; two grandchildren, Adam and Layla; his mother, Caroline Meirzwinski; and two siblings, Richard (Rose) Leinberger and Eileen Leinberger.
He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; his father, Lawrence Leinberger; and his step-father, Leo Meirzwinski.
A memorial service for Larry will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Scott Ludford officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the services.
