Lawrence O. "Larry" Martin, Jr., age 73 of Keshena, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021. Larry was born on September 8, 1947 to the late Lawrence O. and Helen (Reiter) Martin, Sr. in Keshena. He attended Shawano High School. In 1966, Larry was united in marriage to Karen Komanekin in Shawano. He worked for the Menominee Mill, Anheuser Busch in Manitowoc for 47 years, and for the Menominee Tribal Police before retiring in 2002. Larry raced horses and cars as a young man. He was also an avid motorcyclist and belonged to the Wind Jammers Motorcycle Club. Larry loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Larry is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Mike (Juliana) Martin of Manitowoc, Lawrence Martin, III of Manitowoc, Dean (Melissa) Martin of Manitowoc, Laura Martin of Kaukauna, and Jean (Charlie) Martin of Manitowoc; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; siblings, Susie Martin of Shawano, William Martin of Keshena, Rosie (Oscie) Long of South Branch, Helene (Joe) Caldwell of Keshena, Cindy (Ed) Boivin of Keshena, Gloria (Randy) Klein of South Branch, and Jane (Ron) Otradovec of South Branch; and special nephew, Anthony Klein. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joe, George, John, and a sister in infancy; and daughter-in-law, Shelly Martin.
A funeral service for Larry will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in spring. Visitation will be held at the Martin Residence, W2525 Keshena Lake Road, from 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2021 until the time of procession to the church on Tuesday. Pallbearers, Michael Satori, Moshawquit Bartz, Anthony Klein, Adam Krahn, Dave Vanness and Charles Ackley. Family has requested masks are to be worn for all in attendance.
