Obituary

Lawrence A. Tomow, age 80 of Keshena, died on Friday, June 5, 2015 in Shawano. Born on February 5, 1935 in Keshena, he is the son of the late Henry and Frances (Waupoose) Tomow Sr. Lawrence lived most of his life in Keshena where he taught the Menominee language. He was united in marriage to Ione Rabideaux in August of 2007. Lawrence was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena. He was an avid Cub's Fan, enjoyed going to the casino and attending pow-wows, where he often led the opening prayer. Lawrence is survived by: his wife, Ione; 2 sons, John and Telmage Tomow; his brother, Henry Tomow Jr; his step-children; several nieces, nephews and in-laws. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Gertrude (Tomow) Horrighs, Lucille Lyons, Elizabeth "Pachie" Tomow, Margaret King, Louise Tomow, Bernard Tomow and Colin Tomow Sr. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. David McElroy O.Praem officiating. Visitation will be held at the David Barrett Parish Hall from 3:00 p.m. on Monday until the time of the service. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Woods Cemetery in West Branch. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
