IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leo C.
Bahr
January 13, 1935 – October 28, 2024
Leo C. Bahr, age 89 of Cecil, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 13, 1935, in Cecil on the home farm.
On May 12, 1956, Leo was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Signora Westgor at Ascension Lutheran Church in Navarino. Leo farmed for many years and owned and operated the Cecil Feed Mill which later led him to Foxland and Gritz Harvestore working with farmers, new technology, and sales. Leo participated in his community serving as president for the Village of Cecil. Leo also built and sold homes and finished his working career as owner and operator of Bahr Tours Bus Company. Leo was a great musician and played concertina in his own band for many functions including at the MGM Grand Hotel. Leo loved dancing, hunting, fishing, and playing cards, however, his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed talking to people, telling jokes, and sharing stories. He was a wonderful, caring man who helped others anyway he could. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Leo is survived by his wife, Signora; children, Connie (Jeffrey) Boerst and Susan (Alex) Stepp; five grandchildren, Tasha, Jared (Katelyn), Kira, Cayla, and Jenna Boerst; sister-in-law Marlene Westgor, nieces and nephews, and friends Don and Kelly Watry.
Leo is preceded in death by granddaughter Angel Joy Boerst, brothers and sister-in-law Ronald (Geri) Westgor, Robert Westgor, Beverly and Roger Larson, and best friends Bob and Audrey Watry.
A private burial will be held with the assistance of the Swedberg Funeral Home.
A special thank you is extended to the entire team at Unity Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
