Obituary

Leonard J. Zimmermann, age 71, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Parkview Manor in Green Bay. Born in Keshena on May 31, 1946, he is the son of the late Richard and Olive J. (Neconish) Zimmermann. In his younger years, Leonard was an exceptional athlete and also enjoyed riding his bicycle. He was a Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed spending time in the woods. He could always make people laugh and he loved having fun with his family and friends.

Leonard is survived by: his twin sister, Lynn "Che-Che" (Jeff) Placko of Shawano, Garnet Gajewski of IL, John (Jean) Zimmermann of Green Bay, Tony (Loretta) Zimmermann of IL, and Mary Jane Zimmermann of Shawano. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his significant other, Christine Coppersmith, in July; his brother, Marcus John Zimmermann and brother-in-law, Tom Gajewski.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with Fr. Francis Zurbano officiating. Burial will be in the Neconish Cemetery in Neopit. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
