Obituary
Leroy "Red" Gustav Gerondale, 92, of Shawano, passed away on February 3, 2017 at Theda Care in Neenah. He was born on November 14, 1924 in Fort Atkinson, WI to Gustav and Esther (Markgraff) Gerondale. He served in the Army 26th Infantry Division from 1944-1946. On February 22, 1947 he married Bernice Reich in Rome, WI. She preceded him in death in 2004. Together they owned and operated the Village Inn in Rome, WI for 18 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano.
Surviving are his son, Gary (Denise) Gerondale of Cecil, one granddaughter Danielle Frey of Appleton, one great-granddaughter, Sabine, and one great-grandson, Jasper and a few nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Larry, a grandson, Derek, his parents, a brother Jim (Ellen), sisters Helen (Robert) Murray and Dorothy (Roy) Wing.
He will be cremated and a private burial service will be held in the Hebron Cemetery.
