LeRoy Johnson "Skeeter" Beauprey, age 83, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Born on December 4, 1933 in Shawano, he is the son of the late Leonard and Margaret (Wishecoby) Beauprey. Skeeter is a graduate of Shawano High School. He worked at a lumber yard in Fond du Lac before moving to Deadwood, South Dakota where he was an active member and manager of the Moose Lodge. On August 24, 1996, he was united in marriage to Dort (Lyons) Kitson in Keshena who preceded him in death on March 17, 2009. Skeeter enjoyed golfing, baseball, the Packers and the occasional whiskey and coke. He was recently honored with induction into the Menominee Baseball Hall of Fame.
Skeeter is survived by: his children, Pam Forslund, Leonard Beauprey, Wendy Beauprey, Stan Beauprey and Valerie Beauprey; four step-children, Francis "Butch" Kitson, Dwayne "Kit Kat" Kitson, Karla Kitson and Cheryl (Kevin) Mohawk; brother-in-law, Lee White; close family friend, Bob Powers; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Dort; one daughter, Cheryl; three sisters, Jean White, Lucille Chapman and Lorraine Reiter; and three siblings in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Father Francis Zurbano officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
