It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of LeRoy E. Mecikalski, Sr., who entered into eternal life on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the age of 91 following a brief battle with brain cancer at his home in Cecil. LeRoy passed away peacefully and is now reunited with his beloved Mardi and all those who have gone before him. He was born on June 26, 1935, in Milwaukee to the late Julius and Victoria (Laskowski) Mecikalski. LeRoy entered the United States Army during the Korean War from 1954 until 1956 and was honorably discharged. On July 1, 1954, he was united in marriage to Martha V. “Mardi” Lutzke in Little Falls, Minnesota. The couple spent a wonderful 61 years together before Mardi’s passing in 2016. LeRoy worked as a police officer, sales manager, and as the Culligan Man before retiring. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. LeRoy was a proud 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church as well as serving various other communities.

LeRoy is survived by his children, LeRoy “Lee” Mecikalski, Jr., David Mecikalski, Thomas (Rhonda) Mecikalski and Amy Kendziorski; grandchildren, Julie Redell, Brandon Mecikalski, Joshua Mecikalski, Courtney Mecikalski, Matthew Mecikalski, Angelina Mecikalski and Andrew Kendziorski; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Nancy Swoboda. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

LeRoy is preceded in death by his wife, Mardi; siblings, Richard (Susan) Mecikalski and Geraldine (Robert) Pfeifer; and parents, Julius and Victoria Mecikalski.

Memorial services for LeRoy are being planned and will be held in Cecil and Milwaukee. Inurnment will be in St. Adalbert Mausoleum in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bristol Hospice.
