Lillian M. Darling, age 97, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Lillian was born on February 22, 1923, in Shawano, to the late George and Effie (Fink) Thimke. Lillian attended and graduated from Shawano High School. On September 30, 1945, Lillian was united in marriage to Silas Darling in Shawano. Silas preceded her in death in July of 1963. In 1967 Lillian moved to Florida and returned to Shawano in 1988.

Lillian is survived by: her son, Joel Darling; her step daughter-in-law, Barbara Darling; her step grandchildren, Daniel (Karen) Darling, Faye (Steve) Dodge, and Sandy (Mike) Panchot; several step great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mavis Rindt and Betty Ainsworth both of Shawano; and her brother, Jim (Barbara) Thimke of Shawano. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her step son, Norman "Si" Darling, and two brothers-in-law, Norman Rindt and Vernon Ainsworth.

A memorial service for Lillian will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, June 15, 2020, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Fr. David Barrett officiating. Inurnment will be held at Friendship Cemetery in the town of Belle Plaine. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
