Lillian J. Peters, age 97 of Menasha, formerly of Gresham, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Appleton. Born on February 12, 1914 in Lyndhurst, she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie (Aschenbrenner) Ready. On October 26, 1932 she was united in marriage to Leonard A. Peters in Leopolis. The couple made their home in the Gresham area where Lillian lived for most of her life. Lillian worked for True Manufacturing in Gresham, later at Weber Veneer & Plywood and finally for the Shawano Paper Mill until retiring in 1975. She was a member of the St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham where she was active in the St. Ann Society. Lillian was also a member of the Gresham American Legion Auxiliary, the Gresham Women's Club and the Royal Card Club. Lillian is survived by: 2 sons, John L. (Dollaise) Peters of Appleton, Leonard A. (Dee) Peters of Oakhurst, CA; a son-in-law, Fred Bruck of Crestline, CA; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Schmidt of Seymour. Lillian was preceded in death by: her husband, Leonard on May 22, 1978; her daughter, Nancy Bruck; a granddaughter, Kelley; her parents; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham with the Rev. Robert Rank officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday after 10am until the time of the service.
