Linda Joyce Porter, age 67, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Shawano. Linda was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 21, 1947 to George and Joyce (Bird) Koons. She enjoyed the theatre, reading, bicycling and loved music. Linda had an adventurous spirit and loved to try new and exciting things. She loved animals and was saddened by the death of her beloved pets, Luke, her black lab and Sofie, her cat. Linda is survived by her parents, George and Joyce Koons of Shawano and her sister, Sheila Koons of Wausaukee. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Church on the Hill in Shawano with Rev. Allen Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
