Obituary

Linda Cay Spreeman, age 64, passed away on Saturday May 3, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Linda was born on June 21, 1960, in Clintonville, daughter of Shirley (Hanson) Cornelius and the late Gerald "Jerry" "Corny" Cornelius, Sr. Linda was baptized at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Lunds and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation". She graduated from Shawano High School in 1979 and on August 22, 1981, was united in marriage to Ken Spreeman.  The couple shared almost 44 years together. Linda's working career started as a cook at Birch Hill Nursing Home, she then managed Shawano's Pizza Hut before her long 31-year career with Associated Bank.  She took a short time off from her banking career to start up St. Paul Lutheran School's hot lunch program, being head cook for several years. Linda also served on the PTL at St. Paul for  years and volunteered her time with the Spina Bifida Organization. She had been retired from her working career but still stayed very busy with family activities. She hardly ever missed anything that had to do with her family, that included holidays, reunions, parties, school activities and sporting events. She thoroughly enjoyed the many family trips to Disney World.  In her younger years Linda enjoyed playing softball and bowling. She enjoyed the years she spent coaching cheerleading and volleyball. She never missed watching a Packer game and enjoyed attending the occasional game. In her free time, she enjoyed watching movies and landscaping. Linda loved country living on their farm.  She could often be found tending to the garden, her flowers, enjoying the trees and visiting with the next-door neighbors. Those next-door neighbors being their oldest daughter, Erica and son-in-law, Jason Eggert and three grandchildren, Lauren, Laney and Lincoln. They meant everything to Linda as did their second oldest Holly and their youngest JaKen. Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Linda is further survived by her mother, Shirley Cornelius; siblings, Terry (Jenny) Cornelius, Larry (Renee) Cornelius, Gerald "Butch" (Amber) Cornelius, Jr., and Dawn (Larry) Gueths; mother-in-law, Linda E. Spreeman; sister-in-law, Jane (Rick Tonn) Spreeman; brother-in-law, Richard (Lori) Spreeman; godchildren, Maranda Rusch, Payton Cornelius, Tami Urban and Brady Cornelius; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her father, Gerald Cornelius, Sr.; father-in-law, Floyd Spreeman; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Donna Carrigg.
