Obituary

Lisa Louise Komanekin, age 64, of Neopit, passed away peacefully on Friday November 15, 2024, surrounded by family members in Keshena. Lisa was born on June 19, 1960, in Shawano to the late James and Marjorie (Tourtillott) Komanekin, Sr. She attended the Inter Mountain School in Utah. Lisa worked as a childcare provider at a local daycare center for most of her life. She devoted her time to the local Boys and Girls Clubs. Lisa enjoyed going to the casino, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and will be deeply missed.

Lisa is survived by her children, Shanon Mary White, Sheenah Lee (Micky Jay) Frank, Ga-ma-bne Leland White; Sister-in-law Sandy Komanekin, special niece, Alexandria (Will) Corn; grandchildren, Meshaenehsaeh D. Waukau, Brody R. White, James Davids, Jr., Brave Frank, Kyla Marie Beauprey, Jordynn Darling White, Ga-ma-bne Leland White, Jr., Peyton White, Anikohsaeh Corn, Aaliyah Corn, Kurtis Corn and Wynonna Corn; great-grandson, Mae'son Lee Waukau; and siblings, Marjoel (Clifford) Wilber, Barbara May, Wesley (Sharon) Komanekin, Thomas Komanekin, Susan (Richard) Komanekin, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Komanekin, Jason (Rebecca) Komanekin and Jamie (Tammy) Komanekin.

Lisa is preceded in death by her son, Richard; parents, James, Sr., and Marjorie; siblings, Karen Martin, Nancy Komanekin, Joseph Komanekin, James Komanekin, Jr., Connie Komanekin and Kurt Komanekin

A traditional service for Lisa will be held at 11:00 am on Monday November 18, 2024, at the family residence at N1179 State Hwy 55, Keshena with Joe Awonohopay officiating. Visitation  will be held at the residences starting on Saturday November 16, 2024, at 5:00 pm and continuing until the time of service on Monday. Burial will be held following the service at the Menominee Nation Cemetery.
