Lloyd D. Cady, age 87 of Shawano, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016.
Born on August 19, 1929, in Wittenberg, he is the son of the late Lloyd H. and Hilda B. (Borreson) Cady.
After graduating from Wittenberg High School, Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years.
Shortly after his discharge from the Army, Lloyd was united in marriage to Virginia (Spengler) on February 28, 1953 in Rhinelander.
Lloyd worked at St. Regis in Rhinelander for 17 years before his work relocated the couple to Shawano in 1973.
Lloyd was a 50 year member of the Shawano Masonic Lodge #170 F & AM, were he served as Past Master, a member of the Beja Temple, as well as the Gideons where he enjoyed his work as a lay minister.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Virginia; five children, Daniel Cady of Shawano, Lawrence Cady of Tigerton, Pamela Meyer of Greendale, Debra Cady of Bethesda, MD, Steven Cady of Shawano; grandchildren, Jamie (Chad) Herman, Mandy (Jason) Krogh, Shawn (Jenah Swetlik) Cady, Amber Cady, Jason (Jessie Clapper) Cady, Jeremy (Rochelle) Basterash, Jennifer (fiancé, Ben) Meyer, Jesica Meyer, Christina Meyer, Katrianna and Skyler Kleinschmidt; great-grandchildren, Nichole, Travis, Stephanie, Collin, Brittney, Zachary, Jestina, J.J., Breanne Debra, Payge, Aaliyah, Braidyn, Kameron, Jaxzyn, Maddy, Gage, Brandon, Madeline, Isabella, Wesley, Cash; great great-grandchildren, Ciara, Owyn, Rylee and Eli. He is further survived by two brothers, Thomas (Darlene) Cady of Rhinelaner and Michael (Carol) Cady of Arbor Vitae, WI, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Alfred Cady; and his sister and her husband, Betty and William Gauthier.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Church on the Hill in Shawano with Rev. Claudia Deede officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
Military Honors will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Northland Memorial Park in Rhinelander. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
