Lloyd H. Schmidt, age 81, of Town of Herman, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016.
Lloyd was born on December 1, 1934 on the home farm in the Town of Herman, the son of the late Henry and Alvina (Schwartz) Schmidt.
On October 11, 1952, Lloyd was united in marriage to Marlene C. Kuehn in Menomonee, MI.
She preceded him in death on January 11, 1999.
He farmed in the Town of Herman for many years and worked for Ace Farm and Home in Shawano.
Lloyd was a member of Elias Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, was the sexton for the Elias Cemetery, and was a member of Equity Co-op Lynhurst Association.
He enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, and fishing.
More than anything, Lloyd loved spending time with his family.
Lloyd is survived by:
his son, Steve (Pam) Schmidt of Marshfield; one son-in-law, Richard Paisar of Marion; four grandchildren, Melissa (Joey Jueds) Paisar of Marion, Melanie (Pat) Mauss of New Albin, IA, Matthew (Erin) Schmidt of Starbuck, MN, and Andrea (Shawn) Nelson of Mauston, WI; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene and his daughter, Susan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Elias Lutheran Church in the Town of Herman with Lay Pastor Lois Graper officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 until the time of the service.
