Obituary

Lois Gertrude Bartz, age 88, of Shawano entered heaven on June 23, 2021, after struggling with dementia for several years.

Lois was a selfless person whose greatest joy was her family and her pets. Simply put, she lived life beautifully. While her spouse of 67 years, Erv, thought things were "good enough", Lois was not satisfied until things were perfect. One of her favorite mantras was "when you look good, you feel good", and she practiced that daily with her fashion sense, styled hair, nails, and immaculately pressed clothing.

She loved to cook delicious meals and was happiest when everyone left the table with a full belly including her precious dogs who were spoiled rotten with leftovers and sweets.

Throughout her life, Lois always extended a giving hand, ready to help anyway she could. Our family could always count on her for everything that was needed. She loved to sing and had a song for every moment and occasion—Her repertoire was unmatched!

Lois's greatest treasure were her children (Debbie, Doug, Vicky, and Don) and she especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When her son Doug died in an accident, Lois set aside her grief to love and nurture his children. It was a living link to Doug which softened her loss and lasted her entire lifetime.

Lois's other grandchildren and great grandchildren brought an equal amount of joy to her as well. From baking cookies to weekends at Mayflower Lake, she was happiest when surrounded by the kids and had a special bond with each of them.

Erv and Lois were the "salt of the earth folk" (Which is quite fitting as Lois loved salt!) and just good-hearted people who always had a fun time. Everyone who knew Lois loved her and gravitated to her kindness and laughter.

Lois enjoyed traveling and took many road trips with friends and family over the years documented in her treasured photo albums. Regardless of where she visited, her heart was at home. She took great pride in her housework and was blessed to stay there until the very end.

Most importantly, Lois had a very strong faith. Her favorite songs were hymns that she remembered word for word even as dementia took its toll. She was ready to meet her Savior and is now singing in the Angel choir. Her memory will be cherished forever.

Lois is survived by her spouse Ervin Bartz; her children Debra (Daniel) Kamps, Vicky (Scott Bohm) Bartz, Don (Christine) Bartz, daughter-in-law Julie (Chuck Raasch) Bartz; grandchildren Jaime (Rob) Gajewski, Nick (Liz) Bartz, Megan (Judd) Meyers, Kyle (Heather) Bartz, Kerstin Bartz; great grandchildren Charlie Gajewski, Grady & Archer Bartz, Zöe Bartz and beloved dog Benji aka "Sammy".Siblings Kenneth (Sally)Krubsack, John Krubsack, Steven (Judy) Krubsack.  She is further survived by several other relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her son Douglas Bartz, grandson Ryan Kamps, and her parents Wedig and Gertrude Krubsack.
