Loraine E. Schellpfeffer, age 85, passed away while on vacation with her daughter on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in Middlebury, Indiana. Loraine was born on April 6, 1941, in Outagamie County to the late Walter and Grace (Cooney) Freimuth. On December 26, 1986, she was united in marriage to Marvin C. Schellpfeffer in Juneau, Wisconsin. The couple had many memories throughout their marriage, most notably making the rounds around Shawano Lake. Marvin preceded Loraine in death in 2022. Loraine was best remembered for all the good times that took place when she owned White Birch Bar. She loved cooking and baking and was famous for her lasagna and her caramels. Loraine enjoyed traveling and playing cards. She enjoyed watching and gambling on sports and was the family bookie in charge of the boards.
Loraine is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Tom) Zaddack; stepsons, Jeffrey (Linda) Schellpfeffer, Dennis (Crystal) Schellpfeffer and Bruce (Hope) Schellpfeffer; grandchildren, William (Jen) Schneidewend and Tasha Zeinert; great-grandchildren, Ki, Glaive and Cedrick and numerous step great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois Peeters, Lucille Letter, Carol (Jim) Diemel, Barb (Rod) Hillsberg and Ron (Judy) Freimuth; and in-laws, Sherry Freimuth, Marcella Freimuth, Verle Freimuth and Lynn Freimuth. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Loraine is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; nine siblings; and parents, Walter and Grace Freimuth.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Richard Menning officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, starting at 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Lake Drive Cemetery in the Town of Wescott.
