Obituary

Loren Lee "LR" Rouse, age 77, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 in Appleton. Loren was born on July 2, 1941, in Shawano, son of the late Lee and Margaret (Bankert) Rouse. Loren was united in marriage to Carol "Cookie" Ludwiczak on August 26, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Carol preceded Loren in death on January 2, 2009. Loren loved the outdoors.  He was a proud member of the Blue X Deer Hunting Club in Iron County for 61 years.  Loren was a Brewers and Packers fan and loved sports from an early age.  He is a member of the Shawano Baseball Hall of Fame and played in many softball leagues and tournaments over the years.  Loren was an avid curler and a member of the Clintonville Curling Club.  He also loved the races at the Shawano Speedway where he worked Saturday nights for more than 30 years.  Loren loved nothing more than spending time with his family and watching his children and grandchildren play sports.  He definitely had the gift of gab and no one was a stranger for very long.  He thoroughly enjoyed his "sign in" stops, his happy hour crew in Clover Leaf Lakes, and listening to classic country music.  Loren was a great father and grandfather and his quick wit and easy smile will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by those he leaves behind.

Loren is survived by: his children, Steven (Cheryl) Rouse of Shawano, Scott (Becky) Rouse of Shawano, Stacy (Jeff) Drews of Shawano, and Shane (Nina) Rouse of Bonduel; his grandchildren, Stephanie Rouse, Brittany (Cody) Brandt, Courtney Rouse, Jared Rodriguez, Bryce (Allison) Rodriguez, Jordan Rodriguez, Benjamin Rouse, Nicholas Rouse, Finley Rouse, and Owen Rouse; two great-grandsons and a third great-grandchild on the way. He is further survived by sisters-in-law, Nancy (Kevin) Donahue and Karen (Jim) Stenzel as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Loren was preceded in death by his wife Carol, a daughter, Shelley Rodriguez, and his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine with Rev. Kurt Kluge officiating. Burial will be held in Friendship Cemetery.
