Lorraine Mary Godding, age 83 of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Appleton. Born on September 11, 1929 in Sussex, WI, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Knapp) Mudlitz. On August 14, 1954 she was united in marriage to Herbert J. Godding in Wautoma. After marriage the couple lived and raised their family in Milwaukee, later moving to Arizona. The couple vacationed in the Cecil area, until moving to Shawano in 1992. Lorraine lived her life for her children and loved moments spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorraine is survived by: her 4 children, Michael Godding of Poynette, Marian (Wayne) Sewade of Merrimack, NH, Vicki (Dave) Ruechel of New Castle, CO, Debbie Godding of Shawano; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Joecks of Germantown. Lorraine was preceded in death by: her husband of 52 years, Herbert on July 3, 2007; a granddaughter, Judith Ann; her parents; and 7 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Shawano on Monday from 9:30am until the time of the services.
