Obituary

Lorraine A. Schmidt, age 96 of Peshtigo formerly of Athelstane, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Born in Town of Washington on December 7, 1921, she is the daughter of the late Louis and Hedwig Hahn.  On October 16, 1948, Lorraine was united in marriage to Ralph Schmidt in Gresham.  He preceded her in death on November 30, 1979.  Lorraine was the epitome of 1 Corinthians chapter 13, Love is patient, love is kind.  She cherished her family, enjoyed baking and was known for her fantastic apple pies.  Those who encountered her witnessed her giving, loving and kind spirit.
Lorraine is survived by: three children, Bonnie (Joseph) Novitski of Tomahawk, Sandy (Dean) Keibler of IL and Rev. Dennis (Ruth) Schmidt of Oconto; eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 17 great great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Florence Schmidt of Shawano; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Schmidt; her parents; her brother, Eldor Hahn; and her sister, Ardis Waldoch.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Dennis Schmidt, Rev. Kevin Hahn and Rev. Greg Waldoch officiating. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery in Gresham.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 until the time of the service.
